California Pizza Kitchen: Experience the New Menu Items

California Pizza Kitchen is famous for their amazing pizza. They have some unusual flavor combinations as well as the classics. Also, don’t forget about that crust that is cooked to perfection in the the wood fire pizza oven.

So why would they want to change up the menu? I had a chance to try out the new menu items and I’d love to share the details with you!

Let’s start with the drinks. I don’t drink alcohol but they did have some fun non-alcoholic drinks that were light and refreshing!

My boys and I loved the Blackberry Fizz – Fresh Perricone Farms lemonade muddled with blackberries, Monin Blackberry and cranberry juice. A little sweet and a little tart! And don’t forget about my beverage model. Isn’t he handsome?!

To start off the meal, the new flatbreads are perfect. The Smoked Ham and Swiss Flatbread has Emmentaler and goat cheese with caramelized onions and smashed garlic croutons. The smoky flavor of the ham really compliments the tart of the goat cheese. I thought it would be hard to beat that flavor combo until I tried the Brussels and Bacon flatbread! My husband is a self proclaimed Brussels sprout hater and he loved this flatbread that was topped with roasted Brussels sprouts, caramelized onions, Nueske’s applewood smoked bacon, creamy goat cheese, Romano and cracked black pepper.

Looking for a light and healthy salad that is also filling? Try the new Quinoa and Arugula Salad. – A super grain salad with asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, toasted pine nuts and Feta tossed in housemade Champagne vinaigrette. This salad is so full of flavor and is a great option for vegetarians!

Are you considering something hearty for dinner that will really stick to your ribs? I would suggest one of the new dinner entrees that CPK has perfected.

One dessert that is new to the lineup is the S’mores. The top layer was of course toasted marshmallow. As you work your spoon down you discover the Belgian chocolate pudding, dark chocolate chunks and graham cracker pieces. Definitely a sophisticated version of a childhood classic.

I would love to know if you have tried any of the new CPK menu items and what you thought. You can even share your thoughts with CPK by using the hashtag #NewCPK on any of your social media posts.
